By the end of this eCourse, participants will be able to:            

• List the evidence that show that workplace violence and harassment is still a common problem in Ontario  
• List the sources of workplace violence and harassment        
• Describe some workplace factors that may put workers at higher risk of workplace violence and harassment        
• Explain the impact of workplace violence and harassment on the recipient, perpetrator, employer/workplace and the community  
• Define workplace violence and provide examples        
• Indicate how to recognize, assess, control and evaluate the controls for workplace violence and harassment      
• List and explain the components of a workplace violence policy and program        
• Illustrate the duties, rights, and responsibilities of employers, supervisors and workers when it comes to workplace violence
• Indicate how domestic violence issues can enter the workplace and illustrate what the employer/workplace can do to support workers who are experiencing domestic violence or at risk of it
• Describe the work refusal process resulting from workplace violence and explain any nuances that may apply
• Define workplace harassment and provide examples
• List and explain the components of a workplace harassment policy and program
• Describe employer duties when it comes to workplace harassment
• Describe the features of an appropriate investigation and the role of the MLITSD Inspector
• Illustrate how specific workplace factors can prevent workplace violence and harassment from taking place
• List additional tools and resources on workplace violence and harassment that can be found within the health and safety system and WSPS.
