For workers in Ontario who need to know what WHMIS is and how it affects their role, but don’t require proof of training.

This course is delivered as an online e-learning course. All you need is a computer, access to the Internet - and you are ready to go! This e-learning course is designed to help you learn at your own pace and in your own environment at your own convenience.

Do I need certification?

• If you work with or near hazardous products in the workplace, you likely need certified WHMIS training. Check with your employer or safety officer to confirm.

What’s the difference between awareness and training?

• WHMIS Awareness is a short, free course designed to introduce the basics of WHMIS. It’s ideal for individuals who do not need formal certification.
• WHMIS Online Training is a full training course that includes a certificate and meets legal requirements for workers who handle hazardous materials.

Will I get a certificate?

• WHMIS Awareness: No certificate is provided.
• WHMIS Online Training: Yes, a printable certificate is available upon completion
