This eLearning course equips supervisors in Ontario with the necessary knowledge and tools to be proactive and ensure a safe and healthy workplace by helping them understand the importance of fostering a positive safety culture and how to lead by example.
It is critical for supervisors to understand the role they play in protecting worker health and safety and the steps they need to take to demonstrate that they’ve been duly diligent. This not only protects the workers but also the supervisors themselves, as current OHSA penalties for individuals are fines of $500,000 and/or imprisonment for up to 12 months.
Through this course, supervisors will gain a thorough understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), learn the principles of due diligence and how to demonstrate it in the workplace to prevent accidents and injuries, and develop skills to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate control measures.
Using real-world scenarios, this course encourages participants to apply knowledge and practice decision-making. The engaging and interactive content enhances learning and retention.
