All workers in Ontario, whether permanent, temporary, or seasonal have important health and safety rights and responsibilities that must be understood. In this session, we will discuss strategies to ensure that all workers joining the workplace to support peak tire changeover seasons fully comprehend and are able to exercise their health and safety rights and responsibilities. We'll emphasize strategies for effectively communicating these rights, including the crucial right to refuse unsafe work, and the importance of following requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of tools and equipment. By prioritizing education and empowerment to report safety concerns, participants will leave equipped to uphold a culture where every worker confidently prioritizes their safety and well-being.
