Training Overview

The Occupational Health and Safety Act (the Act) and regulations set out the minimum standards for health and safety in Ontario workplaces as well as duties, responsibilities and rights of workplace parties. Contravention of the Act or regulations can result in fines of up to $100,000 for individuals and/or 12 months in jail while corporations can be fined up to $1.5 million. A 25-percent victim fine surcharge also applies to all fines.

Safety, Health & the Law is one-day, instructor-led course designed to increase awareness and working knowledge of Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations. Participants are guided through the sections in the Act using a variety of methods to increase learner engagement and improve understanding and retention of concepts including: exercises, self-assessment checklists, case study and video. Includes a comprehensive 76-page participant guide and a copy of the current Carswell Pocket Ontario OH&S Act & Regulations, Consolidated Edition.

This training solution meets the mandatory awareness training requirements of Ontario Regulation 297/13.
