Most jobs in agriculture involve handling and moving items from one area to the next. Material handling tasks, occur through mechanical material handling equipment such as conveyors and lift trucks, and through workers manually lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Material handling tasks pose unique demands on workers, that without adequate controls can have negative consequences.
