Most workplaces use chemicals, ranging from lower risk consumer products to high hazard designated substances. Some organizations struggle to identify risks and implement effective controls, leaving workers at risk of occupational disease. In this session, we will discuss chemical safety from pre-purchase to disposal following the recognize, assess, control, and evaluate model, highlighting regulatory requirements and sharing tips to keep your workers and property safe.
Join us for an engaging session that breaks down the critical difference between awareness and training in workplace health and safety. Awareness is about informing workers—letting employees know a hazard exists. Training, however, ensures employees understand the risk, can apply controls it in real-world situations, and are supervised to do so safely. We will explore how proper training goes beyond information to build competence and confidence. This session is essential for employers, supervisors, and safety reps who want to meet OHSA requirements and truly protect their teams.
