Workshop Overview

This workshop provides foundational knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities and leadership in retail settings. Using retail specific examples, participants explore how employer, supervisor, worker, Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC), and Health & Safety Representative (HSR) roles support the Internal Responsibility System (IRS), and the prevention of common retail hazards.

By the end of the session, participants will gain practical insights and be introduced to ready to use resources that can support the implementation of workplace health and safety responsibilities and build a better understanding of leadership accountability and OHSA requirements in a retail workplace.
