This session helps Ontario supervisors integrate health and safety responsibilities into daily routine work through practical strategies. Participants will learn to meet legal obligations, manage worker behaviours, and “show the work” of due diligence – empowering them to lead confidently while contributing to a safe, productive workplace.
Being a supervisor in an Ontario workplace comes with significant legal responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and associated Regulations. Balancing these duties with day-to-day work demands can often feel overwhelming – especially when they’re viewed as separate duties.
This session is designed to help supervisors integrate due diligence and compliance into their daily routines through practical, realistic strategies. Participants will gain a clear understanding of their legal obligations, explore ways to effectively manage worker (un)safe work practices and behaviours, and discover how Employers can better support their Supervisors to “show the work” that is being done to keep Workers safe. By focusing on integrating health and safety responsibilities rather than adding them on top of others, this session empowers supervisors to lead confidently and contribute to a safe and productive workplace.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a copy of the Green Book or have access to a digital version of the e-Laws while in attendance. Limited copies will be available onsite.
This workshop will be of particular interest to Employers, Supervisors and Team Leaders across all industries including:
