This course is a practical introduction to work place health and safety committees, health and safety representatives, and policy health and safety committees in Canadian federally-regulated work places. Learn how to fulfill your duties as a committee member or representative, as specified in the Canada Labour Code, Part II. Health and safety legislation in Canada, including the Code, is based on the principle of internal responsibility. This system recognizes that the employer and employees have a shared responsibility for work place health and safety.

This course focuses on the knowledge required by paragraph 125.(1)(z.01) of the Canada Labour Code, Part II. Learners should have a strong foundational knowledge of the Code prior to taking this course.
