WSPS Safety Connection Overview
+ -

While physical hazards such as awkward postures and high force are associated with an increased risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), psychosocial hazards also exist in the workplace and can have a direct relationship with ergonomics. Psychosocial factors as identified in the National Standard (CSA Z1003) such as organizational culture, workload management and balance, if not controlled, can elicit a negative stress response for workers.

This response can contribute to a significant increased risk of an MSD.
