DIY Workshop with WSPS: Violence and Harassment Policy and Risk Assessment

Duration: 4 Hours

This session will begin with a fulsome discussion on workplace requirements surrounding violence and harassment legislation followed by a 1.5-hour workshop to assist you in completing a violence and harassment policy and a violence risk assessment, requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Attendees are encouraged to bring their current WVH program and assessment to work through with a WSPS Consultant. Don’t have a program in place? WSPS will provide a copy of a procedure and assessment building block. Each attendee will receive one-on-one consultant time.

Overview

Workplace violence and harassment (WVH) are one of the most frequent orders issued by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.  It is a critical component under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) for all business in Ontario.  

This session will provide an overview of the requirements under the legislation followed by a hands-on ‘Do it Yourself’ approach to creating a violence policy, completing a violence risk assessment, and creating strategies for control. By completing a comprehensive violence and harassment policy, companies can significantly reduce the risk of workplace non-compliance.  Don’t miss out on this informative yet practical session to support your workplace health and safety system.
